Cake Care
BEFORE ARRIVAL
Ensure your air conditioning is turned on and remains on throughout transportation to maintain the ideal environment for your cake.
COLLECTING YOUR CAKE
When picking up your cake, always carry the box from the bottom. Avoid lifting it from the top or sides, as this could damage your cake.
TRANSPORTING YOUR CAKE
The safest place for your cake is the passenger-side footwell, as it is flat and minimises movement. If you have a passenger, push the seat back to provide enough space.
Drive carefully, avoiding sudden stops, sharp turns, and bumpy roads. Ensure the cake stays level at all times.
STORING YOUR CAKE
• Buttercream cakes: Keep in the box and store in the refrigerator.
• Fondant cakes: Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat when on display.
SERVING YOUR CAKE
Take the cake out of the refrigerator 1-2 hours before serving. Cakes will remain stable for around 30-45 minutes, depending on the temperature, before they may begin to soften.
Remove all decorations before cutting.
LEFTOVER CAKE
Wrap leftovers in cling film. Store in a cool room at room temperature or freeze for up to 3 months. On warmer days, keep refrigerated.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Once cakes have been collected or delivered, Rae’s Bakehouse cannot take responsibility for their safety or care.
